OFFICIAL RESULTS OF PAN-AMERICAN CHAMPIONSHIPS IN BRAZIL

  • ...

The Brazilian Kickboxing Confederation leaded by Paulo Zorello hosted the 6th WAKO Pan-American Championships in Guarujà, a seaside resort at 100 km. distance from S.Paulo. In the successful Continental Championships, we had 400 competitors, representing 10 countries (Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Venezuela, Paraguai, Ecuador, Uruguai, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Peru) .

Brazil, by far the most organized country in South America, dominated in many categories, especially in ring sports, but Argentinian fighters did also very well .

The technical level was quite good in ring sports in general, where Brazil have very good young talents who also won important medals in 2009 WAKO World Championships, but it was quite low in the tatami sports (semi and light contact) where South American countries are missing good coaching. To that regard, Paulo Zorello and president Ennio Falsoni discussed the possibility to organize shortly international seminars with some of our great champions.

During the Pan-Americans, the representatives of the different countries met and discussed future activities and projects. They also took important decisions regarding the WAKO representation in Chile and Mexico.

Paraguai, just to end, will host the 2011 South American Championships in Assuncion, the capital, in the first fortnight of December .
